Casale Villarena, Nerano
This splendid centuries-old villa, a favourite with our clients, has been renovated and turned in to an elegant residence with five independent apartments that are ideal for a break with friends or family.
Enjoy the benefits and freedom of self-catering facilities, with the advantages of a shared pool, a restaurant and ready-made friends for the kids.
All the apartments have private verandas or patios and the pool is surrounded by terraced gardens dotted with lemon and olive trees and with plenty of shady spots.
Dine out on the sea view terrace at the Casale Villarena's 'Il Dolce Far Niente' restaurant where dishes are largely traditional, packed full of the freshest ingredients gathered from the Casale's own gardens.
Hands-on owner Guglielmo organises fishing expeditions and fun cooking and pizza-making classes for those who wants to learn the secrets of the Neapolitan cuisine.
The five apartments are spacious, tastefully furnished and equipped with every comfort, all with a kitchen and large patio or veranda for al fresco dining.
Casale Villarena is in a superb location, surrounded by greenery, in the charming hamlet of Nerano on the very tip of the Sorrento peninsula. The picturesque beach of Marina del Cantone is at the end of the road.
The charming seaside resort of Nerano, in the Marine Reserve of Punta Campanella, offers a pleasant pause from the bustle of Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.
At every turn, the landscape offers picture-postcard scenery with stunning views of Capri, the Amalfi coast and the Li Galli archipelago.
From Marina di Cantone, you can wander along to nearby bays, such as Ieranto or take boat trips to most of the big names along the coast, including Massa Lubrense, Positano and Amalfi.
In addition to its natural beauty, Nerano has a strong gourmet reputation thanks to its two Michelin starred restaurants and strong emphasis on fish and seafood.
If you travel out of season (March-May or October-November) car hire is useful and will allow you to explore further afield while in summer, when roads and parking are very busy, public transport is preferable.
There is a SITA bus stop just outside Casale Villarena which will take you into Sorrento in about 40 minutes while from Marina del Cantone is possible to arrange boat trips to the coastal towns of the Amalfi Coast and Capri.
