If you are heading to the Amalfi Coast this summer, check out the new Campania Express, the fast-track, super-convenient way to reach Herculaneum and Pompeii.
Inaugurated last month, the train will run through to 15 October, transporting visitors to the sites from either Naples to Sorrento in around fifty minutes and with only two stops (Herculaneum, Pompeii), a vast improvement on its predecessor’s multiple stops. Three trains will run daily in each direction.
Air-conditioned trains, serviced by knowledgeable, helpful staff and displaying small screen videos and photos of the area and cultural sitesmean that you reach your destination in comfort and well-informed before the start of your visit. A shuttle-bus service is available for holidaymakers staying in hotels on the outskirts of Sorrento.
Tickets are €15 return or €10 for Campania ArteCard holidays.
