Bologna

''La Dotta'', ''La Rossa'', ''La Grassa'': this is how Bologna is defined, capital of the rich Emilia-Romagna region. La Dotta (the Erudite) for the presence of one of the oldest universities in Italy that still continues to attract Italian and foreign students and to maintain its role as an active cultural centre.  La Rossa (the Red) for the colour that the roofs and houses give to the city, keeping the typical colours of the medieval era alive.
La Grassa (the Fat) for the tasty and sublime gastronomy: Bolognese cuisine is known throughout the world and has conquered even the most demanding palates.

Obviously Bologna is not only this: for example, it has extraordinary spiritual places, such as the Church of San Luca which can be reached by crossing 6 km of porticos or the Complex of the 7 Churches, spectacular and beautiful, the Church of Santa Maria with the extraordinary "Lamentation of Christ". In short, Bologna is one of the most beautiful Italian cities.

Beside Bologna's Unesco historic centre, Bologna is Italy's main rail station making a great base to explore the surroundings and even further afield. Modena, Parma, and Ferrara are all with a 20-minute ride while should you wish to pop into Florence, Milan and Rome, these are only 35 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours respectively on the high-speed rail.

The 051 Room and Breakfast is located right in the heart of Bologna (under the two towers) and is very convenient for visiting the historic city centre (which becomes pedestrian on Saturdays and Sundays). You are welcomed with coffee as soon as you arrive and all the information you need to visit the city. The B&B spreads over two floors: on the first floor is the breakfast room - available 24/24h for a hot drink with biscuits and chocolates - and the standard rooms, on the third floor the suites. We recommend "Gli Specchi" Suite for the view over the roofs, naturally red, of Bologna.

Ravenna

There is no better place than Ravenna for those who are passionate about mosaic wall art. In fact, it is the world's capital of this precious and very ancient art. The mosaic is widespread not only as a decoration for churches but also as decorative art in many parts of the city. A collection of open-air treasures is for everyone to admire while strolling the city's street. Tourists who cross the centre of Ravenna today see it as a small town, but with a little effort of imagination is easy to understand the teeming life that was once here. For three centuries, starting from 402AD, Ravenna was the capital of the Western Roman Empire.

Right in the historic centre of Ravenna, the M-Club is perfect for getting around the city, it is a stone's throw from the Church of San Vitale and The Domus of Stone Carpets. The B&B is immaculate, furnished with great care and style, it feels more like a home rather than a bed & breakfast for the details and atmosphere. The rooms are equipped, clean and very attractive.
