The Cilento National Park
Just two hours to the south of the Amalfi Coast, the Cilento offers a more authentic experience to its glitzy neighbour. Its coastline offers a string of sandy Blue Flag beaches with turquoise blue water, set against a backdrop of thickly-wooded hills dotted with medieval hilltop villages.
Spectacular in the spring and autumn, activities inland include hiking, caving and bird watching. Along the coast, explore small towns and villages such as Santa Maria di Castellabate and Acciaroli.
As a UNESCO World Heritage site, the region’s principal cultural attractions are Paestum, Velia and the vast Certosa of Padula.
